![]() ![]() That's what we do but I know it might not work for everyone, so best of luck and hopefully they can fix all the issues soon as I do enjoy the game other than the desyncs. You can just copy the workshop folders over to your local mod folder and it should work. I'd just make sure everyone's mods are exactly the same, with both having the same mod order and if that still doesn't work try using the local mod folder instead of steam. Sidenote: This has been addressed slightly in the upcoming sequel, by adding a PBEM-like mode that allows hot-join into Live MP.Originally posted by Death_Toad:So I know I play modded with my friends and we have no issues, but we also now move all the mods we use to the ".\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4\Mods" folder as anytime a steam workshop mod updates it makes the game unable to continue, so having them saved locally and using those as the playset and having exact same mod order allow us to play. There's been a couple of threads about *why* this is, but I still find this one from back in 2014 to be the most concise:Ĥth post down by Tombles, one of Triumph's devs. ![]() I assume most of them revolve around "don't be a ♥♥♥♥" types of things. There's at least one MP group around that has a set of rules to minimize abuses of each mode's flaws, though I'm not well acquainted with what they are. Live MP: Auto-battle all independent fights, manual battle all fights between players. But combats with other players are impossible.Ģ. PBEM: take all the time you want on independent turns, it's not like your opponent is sitting there waiting for you. So there are basically 2 ways people play:ġ. It's unfortunate, but necessary (see bottom). While a battle is occurring, the rest of the game has to lock up. ![]() ![]() I don't play MP, but I've seen this explained often enough to have a good idea of it. ![]()
